I Love Ziploc Bags!
Packing for a trip can be extremely frustrating. What to take? What will the weather be like? Where am I going? Who am I going to meet? What do I want to look like? Why do I care? What am I, psychic?
My idea of packing is – take a few things and if I need something that I forgot to pack, or just didn’t think to pack, well, then, I’ll just buy it.
But one thing that I carry a large stash of in my suitcase when I travel are various sizes of Ziploc bags – gallon, quart, sandwich and snack.
I use them to carry my toiletries, carry business cards (both mine and the ones I’m given), art supplies, souvenirs I pick up along the way (like napkins with logos on them and matchbooks), carrying spare batteries and camera cables, keeping different currencies separate, and all of those receipts and paper bits that I need to keep track of. Ziplocs keep things dry, you can see through them, and you can keep using them until they fall apart. You can keep them with you in your day bag and leave the ones behind in your suitcase that are not needed. And, they are affordable.

I forgot to mention one other use … As little garbage bags, so you don’t have to litter. I’m primarily thinking of Mexico travel, and specifically Mexican bathrooms, with this suggestion.
