All participants and members (Writers, Photographers, Artists, Etc.) of artist-at-large retain the full copyright to their works.
All written material, photographs, and digital images in this web site are under license by artist-at-large and are available to any person for the express purpose of viewing the web site.
No written material, photograph, image or portion of any written material or image, may be reused in any way without the express written permission of the Artist, Photographer, Writer and/or Creator of the piece in question.
For both our Readers and Site members: Reuse includes absolutely no pinning or posting of artist-at-large content to sites like Pinterest or Facebook. This is because of the wording in, or the continually changing of, their Terms of Service and Copyright documents. Of course, if you are the artist, you can make your own decisions about what to post or not post to these sites.
All physical written material, photographs, digital images, and artwork is owned solely by the individual artists represented here and are subject to United States and International copyright laws.
By submitting your images, profiles, and news/blog posts to artist-at-large you are giving artist-at-large the permission and right to publish said material on this web site for a specific post or status update within the network. Written material submitted for guest posts may be edited for length, grammar and/or translation. Images may be edited for size to fit in a required space.
From time to time artist-at-large may come up with promotional ideas or projects for the web site that may include the use of members’ images. artist-at-large will respect the integrity of the art and the artist, as well as make every effort to contact the artist for permission to use their images before a promotional project is released. It is assumed that if you are a member of artist-at-large, you would want to opt-in to be included in site related publications and projects.
The posts from the blogs, or excerpts of posts, will be made available to and through publishing channels over the internet with the intention of drawing internet traffic to the site for the purpose of exposing the site’s artists to a larger circle of community members and potential clients for the artists and for the purpose of earning income for the site. These channels could include services like RSS feeds, twitter, the publisher of artist-at-large Facebook page, and other future channels not as yet developed.
Blog posts, blog comments, and community topics and posts will remain on topic within the description of the artist-at-large site – anything to do with the arts, culture, and cultural travel. To a lesser degree, the subject of travel in general. Within the community, off topic groups will be allowed as long as they are marked as being off topic.
Spam on artist-at-large blogs will not be tolerated in any form. artist-at-large blog owners who spam will have their accounts suspended and their blogs deleted without warning and without refund. Spam will not be tolerated in the artist-at-large community nor in any comments on any part of the site. We all know what spam is.
Discrimination or hate-posts on any blog, community post, or within any comment on the site will not be tolerated. Any member who posts discriminatory or hate posts or comments on artist-at-large will be suspended and banned without notice.
Advertising on artist-at-large is explained in the Advertising Disclosure. This disclosure covers all of artist-at-large and its subdomains. Member sites – those whose address are http://yourname.artist-at-large.com – will not have advertising placed on them, other than posts about creative work for sale, portfolio images, and links to a member’s off site projects which could include links to e-commerce sites where their work is for sale.
The site’s privacy policy is explained in the Privacy Policy.
Important: When mentioning or referring to artist-at-large or artist-at-large.com in any post, tweet, facebook status update, or print or online media, the name artist-at-large is all lower case with the hyphens. This is for visual branding purposes, as other variations of this name lead to other entities online.
artist-at-large Members may leave artist-at-large at any time. Blog posts, the images contained within them, and profiles will be deleted within a month after the member’s departure. Users who choose to leave the site after a year but would like to have their blog left “as is” on the site, may petition the site to do so. Leaving artist-at-large means that you will no longer be posting your news in the blog, your logins will be deleted and you won’t be contacted by the site in the future. Your comments on blog posts and within the community will remain on the site.
